First , they helped move a homeless woman and her daughter into a home away from death threats and into a caring community in North East Ontario. By doing this for us, we were able to provide:
- Washrooms for Travelers
- Layettes for Babies in need
- Tourist Information Centre
- Respite for Women and Children and Travellers
- After hours drop in Recreation Centre with cards, games,puzzles
- Food Bank
- Clothing Depot
- First Aid Station
- Indoor Picnic Area
- Education Centre and Skills Exchange
- Crafts and Sewing Centre
- Community Dinners
- Bible Studies and Sunday English Language Church Services
- Spiritual Counselling and Prayer
- Uplifting Library
- Free storage for people in need

- More Food Stability Programs: Grocery Delivery Program, Community Kitchen, Grocery Swap, Indoor Community Garden, Food Delivery for Shut Ins
- After Hours Drop In and Shop Promoting Local Crafts and Businesses
- Fit Stop for truckers and travellers to reduce road collisions and reduce vehicle insurance rates
- Green initiatives for our building and our community to reduce our bills and our footprint
- Increase outreach to immigrants and refugees - language classes, temporary housing, resettlement assistance
- Community Arts Hive
- Research and recruiting people to refurbish a second building
- Expand Storage for People in need to include moving assistance, more storage, pet sitting

People ask me how things are going here in Northern Ontario - we are plugging along!  There is so much that has happened that it is difficult to get it all into words.
Here is a bit of an update:

 Often women who need to enter a shelter lose all their belongings because they have no money to pay for storage.
Do you or your church have space that is empty and not being used? Could you help a woman in need by offering free storage space? It costs you nothing extra and provides a  very important service.

Until we received this donation we had been cooking in toaster ovens, and other small electric appliances.

Hôtel Dieu for Women - Beginnings!

Hôtel Dieu for Women - 

Whether for an hour, a day or a season, 

A place for women to BE and see themselves through the Loving Eyes of God.

When this vision was first given, it was simply a scrap of paper torn from the top of a page of foolscap with Hôtel Dieu for Women printed in blue pen across the top.

I had asked God what He wanted me to do, and He had replied with a detailed vision of Refurbished Homes by Refurbished People,  and this cryptic vision of a slip of paper.

Later, when asking God for further clarification, a full vision of a Hôtel Dieu for Women was givien in an extremely detailed dream.

Since then, God has put some amazing people and experiences in place to forward this vision with which  we are steadily moving forward.

This blog will attempt to answer some questions about the vision, and keep our readers from around the world updated on the challenges and progress in walking forward in faith with this ministry.
